Sessions run at Penmar Recreation Center on Lake St, just off Rose, the closest field to Venice, Mar Vista, and the south end of Santa Monica. Private lessons, 2–4 player small groups, and squad sessions, without the drive inland.

The field
Penmar Park
1341 Lake St, Venice, CA 90291
- No lights. This is the one field on the list that stops near sunset, so winter sessions here are afternoons and weekend mornings. Summer evenings are fine.
- Street parking on Lake St and around the park. Rose Ave fills up on weekends, so come in from the Penmar side.
- Grass, and it takes the marine layer, so mornings can be wet. Cleats, not turf shoes.

The travel fee is per session, not per player. A group of four splits it about $13 each, and it is settled with me at the field. Every booking charges only the base rate. Sherman Oaks is the home field and carries no fee at all.
Who plays here
Santa Monica Vikings Youth Lacrosse is one of the oldest programs in Los Angeles and its families are concentrated right here. Penmar is the field their players can walk or bike to, which makes weekend morning groups the easiest ones to fill on this side of town.

Questions
Why are there no evening sessions here in winter?
Penmar has no lights. From roughly November to March a session has to finish before sunset, so weekday slots here are afternoons and the good options are Saturday and Sunday mornings. Cheviot Hills and Barrington are both lit if you need an evening.
Is Penmar the closest field to Santa Monica?
Yes, of the four. It is about ten minutes from most of Santa Monica and the only one that does not involve heading east.
Train in Venice & Mar Vista
Bring two teammates and it is $100 each. Book a time, then send it to the rest of the group. Everyone claims their own spot at that same slot.
